Effective
environmental training is an essential element in assuring an organisation meets its environmental objectives. We can provide
flexible, on site training in a number of key environmental areas
which include:
Our seminar and workshop programme is regularly updated in line with
business needs.
Events are designed to be as practical as possible with hands-on
exercises and multi-media presentation styles.
For any company implementing or operating an environmental management system, the Standard requires that employees receive awareness training on the environmental issues related to their job. Staff may be asked to demonstrate to the certification body that they are competent in their knowledge of the company’s environmental policy, objectives and targets, significant environmental aspects and job-related procedures.
We can provide general environmental awareness training to your entire workforce. One of our consultants will deliver the training, which will be tailored specifically to your company. It will give all employees an overview of environmental issues, and make them aware of the company's environmental policy, together with a general understanding of environmental management systems.
All businesses have a duty to ensure that any waste produced is handled safely and within the law. This is called 'duty of care'. It applies to anyone who produces, imports, transports, stores, treats or disposes of controlled waste from business or industry.
We can provide specific duty of care training to your employees so that they understand what is required by law and to ensure everyone works towards meeting all the requirements of the regulations.
Waste management legislation is becoming increasingly complex and getting it wrong could land your company, and those responsible for any breach, in court.
We can provide training that will ensure employees that handle waste understand the financial and environmental benefits, as well as the legal requirements and also learn best practice techniques in waste management.
No company can afford to neglect the law, but many companies still do
not realise the full extent of their obligations under environmental
legislation.
We will provide you with a knowledge and understanding of the
legislative structure, current environmental legislation and how it is
enforced. Our training addresses the requirements of key environmental
legislation, and provides advice on good practice to ensure your
compliance.
Did you know that in the UK, on average, organisations could save 20% on their energy bills - which could be equal to a 5% sales
increase? Cutting energy costs through improved energy efficiency goes
straight to the bottom line, making your organisation immediately more
competitive. Saving energy doesn’t need
massive investment in time or money.
Our specialist consultants will help you understand the energy you use,
and how to monitor energy consumption. We will teach you energy
metering and monitoring techniques and how to report and communicate
energy saving initiatives - If people aren’t aware of the energy they
use they are unlikely to save it.
We can also deliver specific energy warden training. One of the main ways to reduce carbon and save money is by saving energy. The role of the energy warden is to increase awareness amongst staff of reducing energy use, water and waste, investigate and identify opportunities for improving energy, water and waste management and to provide support to front line staff involved in energy, water and waste control. Ensuring each team has a trained energy warden can help ensure that you are reducing carbon and saving energy and money.
Regular spill training and spill response exercises are essential to ensure that key staff understand their responsibility for site safety, spill control and environmental protection. Our training package is site specific and includes a practical exercise where the delegates have to cope with an actual spill situation and respond accordingly.
