Continual Improvement

In order for an organisation to be awarded an ISO 14001 certificate they must be audited by a UKAS accredited external certification body.

The key requirements of ISO 14001 are to continually improve operations, prevent pollution and ensure legal compliance. Once companies have achieved ISO 14001, external assessors will visit them every six months for surveillance visits. Consequently, businesses need to keep improving and progressing with their EMS to maintain compliance with the standard.
