ISO14001 requires auditors to have a detailed knowledge of the requirements of the Standard, understand the principles of environmental protection and apply them to a company's EMS.
Business Sustain offers a practical two day course for environmental auditors, and delivers real world skills for developing audit strategies and conducting and delivering effective, comprehensive audits and audit reports.
The course takes place over two days and covers all the clauses of the ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management System standard, important current environmental legislation, and explains how to audit against each clause.
It is intended to provide delegates with a working understanding of the EMS audit process, how it may be applied within an organisation, the background and principles of EMS auditing, and the purpose and structure of audit activities. The course will also impart real-world skills for developing audit strategies and conducting and developing effective, comprehensive audits and audit reports.
Upon completion of the course delegates should be able to:
- Plan, conduct and report environmental audits
- Judge the performance of EMS in meeting the requirements of ISO 14001
- Ascertain if an in-house EMS 's own requirements are being adhered to
- Carry out follow-up actions
